About REIC Tampa Bay

Purpose of REIC

The Real Estate Investment Council (“REIC”) is an organization of a wide range of professionals having an interest in commercial real estate. Its purposes are to (a) inform its members of the latest business and financial news affecting commercial real estate; (b) create a forum for the exchange of ideas; and (c) provide a setting for members to develop new business contacts.

History of REIC

The REIC was formed in 1983 as the Tampa Bay Investment Council. We incorporated in 1984 as a not-for-profit corporation, and changed our name to the Real Estate Investment Council, Inc. in 1987. In 1991, we qualified for federal income tax exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
