The Edge District is a fourteen block neighborhood located between MLK (9th Street) and 16th Street, and 1st Avenues North and South on the western edge of downtown St. Petersburg. New development and (more importantly) new local entrepreneurs combined to turn the neighborhood from a collection of empty store windows into St Pete’s center of edgy cool.  Jon Daou was one of those leading entrepreneurs.

In 2007, Jon founded Openhouse.me in New York City to give brands a full-service, temporary space to pop up and host events. He’s consulted on pop ups since helping set up Illy Cafe’s West Broadway campaign in 2005 and has advised hundreds of brands on marketing and experiential real estate strategy. Jon is a licensed real estate broker specializing in redevelopment properties and a retail specialist consultant responsible for sales of over $300 million in investment and retail property in downtown Manhattan. He’s been quoted in the New York Times, the Associated Press and dozens of other outlets.

In 2014, Jon moved to St. Pete and founded Eastman Equity. Since then, the company has invested in more than 11 acres of commercial property in Downtown St. Petersburg; concentrated in the EDGE District. Eastman Equity is focused on redeveloping the EDGE into one of the top shopping,hotel and culinary destinations of Tampa Bay.
